Job Title: Senior Animal Health and Policy Specialist
The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled Senior Animal Health and Policy Specialist to join our team in developing and implementing effective animal biosecurity strategies to support the Biosecurity Act 2015.
This is an exciting opportunity for a policy professional with expertise in animal health and welfare to contribute to the development of NSW's biosecurity framework. The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying emerging biosecurity threats, providing expert advice, conducting research and evaluating the effectiveness of policies.
The role requires strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with government bodies, industry stakeholders and national forums. Additionally, the successful applicant will play a key role in planning and responding to biosecurity emergencies affecting both terrestrial and aquatic species.
About the Role:- Develop and implement animal biosecurity strategies to support the Biosecurity Act 2015.
- Cover the entire policy development lifecycle, including identifying emerging biosecurity threats and providing expert advice.
- Collaborate with government bodies, industry stakeholders and national forums to strengthen NSW's biosecurity framework.
- Play a key role in planning and responding to biosecurity emergencies affecting both terrestrial and aquatic species.
- Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary Science, registerable in NSW.
- Current NSW Driver Licence.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office apps and electronic record keeping.
