Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced mechanical leading hand to join our team at Malaga.

  • As a key member of the Energy team, you will be responsible for evaluating the quality of work and providing feedback to management for reviews.
  • You will also resolve issues between team members and elevate concerns to line manager and/or HR as required.
  • In addition, you will assist, guide and mentor apprentices, mechanical team & trade assistance sharing your knowledge and provide hands-on assistance as required.
  • Your responsibilities will include assisting in work planning, scheduling, and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly maintenance plan.

About the Role

This is a challenging role that requires strong leadership and technical skills. You will be working closely with our clients to ensure their needs are met and providing expert advice on mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts of power generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating the quality of work and providing feedback to management for reviews
  • Resolving issues between team members and elevating concerns to line manager and/or HR as required
  • Assisting, guiding, and mentoring apprentices, mechanical team & trade assistance
  • Assisting in work planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Undertaking planned and ad-hoc inspections on the condition of UON products as required
  • Installation and commissioning of UON products in workshop/Yard and WA mine sites
  • Predictive and reactive service, maintenance, and repair of UON and client equipment as required
  • Completing general maintenance, repairs, and component change-outs on a variety of surface mining equipment

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Leadership experience and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
