Remote Services Operations Manager

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead and support a team of Remote Coordinators to deliver safe, effective services aligned to our mission. Key responsibilities include driving strategies to expand reach, strengthen partnerships, and improve service efficiency in remote communities.

  • Identify growth opportunities, support new service launches, and oversee logistics and maintenance.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to monitor performance, impact, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee risk assessments, incident management, and safety practices to ensure strong safety culture across all services.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with First Nations communities, partners, government, and funders.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team members, fostering engagement and growth.
  • Manage operations to achieve both strategic and day-to-day objectives while contributing to organisational reporting and improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' leadership experience leading teams in program development, operational support, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of principles of public health (highly desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health, social, and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • A track record of enhancing processes through a proactive and growth-orientated mindset.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce.
  • Strong written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly as required.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive attitude, resilience, and a genuine passion for our cause.
