Electronics Specialist Role

In this electronics specialist role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our QPS devices and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Servicing, maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and installing electronic devices and systems is crucial to your success in this position.
  • You will assist in designing, developing, and implementing technical projects and replacement programs for equipment tenders.
  • Providing technical evidence on related equipment on behalf of QPS in courts of law will require strong analytical skills.
  • Liaising with Road Policing Command and Public Safety Business Agency staff as required demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Compliance with relevant legislation, policy, procedures, standards, quality management, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements is vital.
  • Liaising with contractors and external providers effectively meets business needs.
  • Providing instruction and training to technical and non-technical personnel in the operation and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems showcases your teaching abilities.
  • Maintaining databases and accurate records assists in the management of assets and associated spare parts and supplies.
  • Participating in and performing internal audits of laboratory documentation and procedures identifies any non-compliance and proposes corrective actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in electronics, engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing electronic devices and systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for providing technical evidence in court.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for liaising with staff and contractors.
  • Familiarity with QPS devices and systems is an advantage.
