The Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief External Relations Officer to develop and implement the enterprise strategy for corporate relations and policy positions with key external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organisation has a cohesive and consistent external corporate voice aligned with our strategic objectives, while building strong relationships and executing a proactive and reactive action plan to promote and protect our business interests.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute on strategic media, communications, political, and public policy campaigns;
  • Maintain and develop relationships with national and trade media, industry peak bodies, government, and other third-party stakeholders;
  • Serve as a thought leader in the field of corporate affairs and communications;
  • Demonstrate integrity, empathy, and willingness to listen and consider stakeholder views;
  • Exercise outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and a willingness to play a hands-on role when necessary to deliver as a team on our strategy.


About You

You possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, media, and external communications, government relations, or industry affairs roles within the financial services and/or insurance industry. You have a proven track record of success in developing and executing impactful campaigns, managing diverse stakeholder relationships, and demonstrating leadership and integrity.
