The Kew Neighbourhood Learning Centre is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic green thumb to volunteer with our gardening group.

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated individual to assist with general gardening tasks, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the garden area, and support participants as they engage in gardening activities under the guidance of a lead volunteer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with weeding, pruning, planting, and watering.
  • Maintain the garden area's cleanliness and organization.
  • Support participants during gardening activities.
  • Cultivate and care for produce grown in the centre's garden beds.
  • E nsure the gardening space remains accessible and inclusive for all participants, including those with disabilities.
  • F ollow health and safety guidelines to provide a safe gardening environment.
Requirements
  • Working With Children check mandatory.
  • Current police check mandatory.
  • Fully vaccinated.

Our garden features accessibility-friendly raised beds and a step-less entrance to ensure inclusion for all participants. Volunteers may engage with individuals receiving support through various programs.
