We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to lead our legal function.
About the Role- This is a strategic and hands-on leadership opportunity, advising the business on commercial, operational, and regulatory matters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level legal advice on commercial risks, acquisitions, divestments, contracts, leases, and litigation.
Key responsibilities include managing commercial contract governance, overseeing relationships with external legal providers, ensuring insurance coverage is appropriate and cost-effective, and performing company secretary duties for Australian operations.
The role also involves leading the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, overseeing compliance with key legislative obligations, and developing organisational strategies, systems, and policies that build a proactive risk management culture.
In addition, the Head of Legal will work closely with executives, operations, and functional leaders to integrate strategic outcomes into daily operations, provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to team members and stakeholders, and contribute to shaping the legal and risk function.
About You- You will have extensive experience in a similar legal leadership role, with a strong understanding of commercial law and risk management principles.
- Proven ability to provide high-level legal advice and lead cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ambitious and driven, with a strong desire to shape the legal and risk function and contribute to the organisation's success.
