As Head of Technology, you will oversee the organisation's technology function, focusing on IT Infrastructure, IT operations and enterprise systems that underpin business performance. Supporting both corporate and franchise operations across a growing national footprint, you will provide clarity, direction and technical expertise to keep the company's technology strategy aligned with organisational objectives and industry best practice. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and Advisory Board, you will deliver structured insights on project outcomes, risks and opportunities, ensuring technology consistently enables growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the organisation's IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Oversee the management, maintenance and security of all IT systems, applications, networks and databases.
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable and aligned with industry best practices.
- Lead the selection, implementation and integration of new technologies and platforms.
- Establish and enforce IT security policies and protocols to safeguard data and systems.
- Manage risk assessments, disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, standards and data protection regulations.
- Lead, mentor and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous learning.
- Allocate resources effectively to support business priorities.
- Conduct quarterly vulnerability scans and report findings as necessary.
- Implement regular phishing campaigns and hold educational sessions to promote cybersecurity awareness.
- Demonstrated success managing an IT Infrastructure team for five or more years.
- Understanding of retail or QSR technology requirements.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices including the Essential 8, ISO27001 and PCI DSS.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
- Strong understanding of human resource management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Experience dealing with and negotiating with technology suppliers.
- Understanding of competitive market rates for key QSR technology goods and services.
- Experience within a franchise network is advantageous.
- University degree in computer science, information systems or a related field with at least five years of relevant work experience.
- Certifications in ITIL and project management are advantageous.
- Strategic vision with practical experience in IT infrastructure and service delivery.
- Ability to mentor and lead a team while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across executive and operational teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, optimise processes and ensure reliable operations.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, cybersecurity frameworks and industry best practices.
- Executive-level role with genuine influence and impact across the organisation.
