Overview

CBCity, one of the largest Councils in NSW with diverse communities, is seeking an experienced Business Risk Management Consultant to join its Safety and Risk unit. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Business Unit Managers to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organisation.

Salary

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $122,553 (Grade J, Step 1) + 11.5% super, negotiable based on skills and experience.

Job Description

This role involves enhancing and maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management function at a strategic and operational level, including strategy, policy, and systems development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining strategies, policies, procedures, and programs related to enterprise risk management.
  • Providing risk advice and support to ensure informed decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Framework and programs, including risk profiling, reporting, and advice.
  • Supporting the Executive Leadership Team with strategic and emerging risk registers.
  • Conducting risk reporting tailored for different audiences.
  • Offering advice, education, and training to staff to promote risk awareness within the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A current C-class driver's licence.
  • Relevant qualifications in business, risk management, or a similar field, or deemed equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in advisory or business partnering roles, as well as risk management activities in complex organisations.
  • Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to undertake strategic assessments with executive leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and researching complex issues, proposing solutions at a local level.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to various levels of the organisation, including the executive leadership team and Audit Risk and Improvement Committee.
