Senior Data Analyst – Defence Aviation Safety Environment

Join our team of expert data analysts and contribute to the protection and improvement of defence aviation operations.

At QinetiQ, we deliver mission-critical services and systems to defence, national security, and essential industry. We are seeking a data analytics and BI specialist who can bring a deep understanding of data governance, modelling, and communication within a safety-critical environment.

As a Senior Data Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading analysis and modelling of aviation risk and safety data to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  • Collaborating with defence stakeholders to interpret requirements and shape solutions that meet their needs.
  • Providing guidance on data governance and integration across ICT platforms to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Developing reports, dashboards, and database structures that support operational insight and drive business value.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with data modelling, analysis, and structured reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with secure or defence environments, or a willingness to learn.
  • A focus on practical outcomes and understanding how data supports decision-making.
  • Experience with tools like PowerBI, SQL Server, or similar.

Applicants must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
