Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a talented fluid dynamics professional to join our Melbourne team. This exciting role will involve tackling diverse and challenging projects that combine advanced CFD with hands-on experimental testing and real-world measurements.

In this position, you'll contribute to research and development efforts, breakthrough innovations, and high-impact client projects. You'll work alongside a team of experienced engineers who have expertise ranging from Formula 1 to advanced industrial sectors.

This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about fluid dynamics and want to make a meaningful contribution to the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct CFD simulations for consultancy projects, focusing on product development and optimization of fluid dynamic performance.
  • Report findings to clients and stakeholders through presentations, meetings, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain and develop Python-based codebases.
  • Contribute to internal best practices and workflow methodologies to enhance accuracy, reduce errors, and improve knowledge transfer.
  • Participate in internal R&D efforts and stay updated with aerodynamic development techniques, CFD methodologies, visualizations, and their application to our projects.
  • Occasionally oversee or conduct experimental testing.
Requirements
  • A degree in aerospace, mechanical, or a related field.
  • At least two years' relevant industry experience or fluid dynamics-based post-graduate studies.
  • Strong understanding and passion for fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with CFD tools such as Star-CCM+ or OpenFOAM.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling with CAD systems like Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
  • Programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time in Australia.

Experience with Linux-based HPC systems would be advantageous.

Familiarity with wind tunnel testing and/or real-world measurements would also be beneficial.
