Our clients include architects, planners, project managers, developers, government bodies, energy providers, sporting organisations, the motorsport industry, and companies of all sizes. At L2T, we use the right tool for the job - be it analytical methods, CFD, wind tunnel testing, or real-world measurement - to deliver insights and solve the most complex aerodynamic and fluid dynamic challenges.

You will join a team committed to performance, innovation, and exceptional service, consistently exceeding the expectations of clients and colleagues alike.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Fluid Dynamics Engineer to join our Melbourne team. This is a unique opportunity to tackle diverse and challenging projects - combining advanced CFD with hands-on experimental testing and real-world measurements. You'll be at the forefront of solving complex fluid dynamics problems and driving real performance improvements.

In this role, you'll contribute to R&D, breakthrough innovations, and high-impact client projects, working alongside a team of engineers with experience ranging from Formula 1 to advanced industrial sectors.

If you're passionate about fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and engineering innovation - and you're motivated by solving real-world problems with world-class tools and techniques - L2T offers the opportunity to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact.

  • Oversee or conduct experimental testing.
  • Report on findings to clients and other stakeholders through presentations, meetings and technical reports.
  • Contribute to maintenance and development of Python-based codebase.
  • Contribute to internal best practices and workflow methodologies to improve accuracy, reduce errors and enhance knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to internal R&D efforts and stay up to date with the state of the art in aerodynamic development techniques, CFD methodologies, visualisations and their application to L2T's projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical or similar
  • Experience: 2+ years' relevant industry experience or fluid dynamics-based post-graduate studies
  • Strong understanding and passion for fluid dynamics
  • Experience with CFD (e.g. OpenFOAM, Star-CCM+, or similar)
  • Experience in 3D modelling with CAD systems (e.g. Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Rhino or similar)
  • Experience with programming, preferably Python
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Right to work full-time in Australia
  • Preferable:

  • Experience with Linux-based HPC systems

  • Understanding of wind tunnel testing and/or real-world measurements

KEY QUALITIES

  • Driven & Enthusiastic: You should be eager to learn and passionate about solving engineering challenges.
  • Collaborative: A team player who thrives in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Innovative: A creative thinker who is keen to contribute to both client projects, internal R&D and development projects.
