About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Yards Person to join our team at the QCoal Northern Hub Project in Central Queensland. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will work collaboratively with our Maintenance Superintendent to deliver high-quality solutions and results.

The QCoal Northern Hub is a major mining operation located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 6km south of Collinsville. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Tractor slashing, whipper snipping, and poisoning entrances, workshop compounds, and go line crib huts
  • Tidying up bunding around workshop compounds
  • Straightening and cleaning workshop compound signage
  • Making new signage and repairing old, damaged signage for production
  • General building maintenance, including windows, doors, water leaks, etc.
  • Assisting HV Electricians with aircon installs, etc.
  • Delivering SOS samples to the post office
  • Franna/IT loader operations around site (desirable)
  • General T/A duties with the stores
  • Concreting and minor road repairs
  • Cleaning out sumps
  • Weekly water treatment plant inspection/service
  • Pest control around workshop compounds and go line crib huts

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in an open-cut mining environment (highly desirable)
  • Franna/IT loader RII's (highly desirable)
  • A valid driver's license
  • A Standard 11
