About the Role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Yards Person for a permanent employment opportunity at our QCoal Northern Hub Project in Central Queensland.

This role reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and involves working collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions and results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform tractor slashing, whipper snipping, and poisoning entrances, workshop compounds, and go line crib huts.
  • Tidy up bunding around workshop compounds.
  • Straighten and clean workshop compound signage.
  • Make new signage and repair old, damaged signage for production.
  • Perform general building maintenance, including windows, doors, water leaks, etc.
  • Assist HV Electrician's with aircon installs, etc.
  • Deliver SOS samples to the post office.
  • Operate Franna/IT loader around site (desirable).
  • Perform general T/A duties with the stores.
  • Concreting and minor road repairs.
  • Clean out sumps.
  • Weekly water treatment plant inspection/service.
  • Pest control around workshop compounds and go line crib huts.
Requirements
  • Commitment to a positive safety culture.
  • Commitment to Thiess' principles of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Delivery.
  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working in an open-cut mining environment (highly desirable).
  • Franna/IT loader RII's (highly desirable).
  • Driver's License.
  • Standard 11.
