We are seeking a knowledgeable Technical Manager to provide expert oversight and insights to our claims team. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within our organization, offering a variety of employee benefits and wellness programs.
As a Technical Manager, you will serve as the key resource for technical expertise, delivering coaching and mentorship to claims personnel on intricate claims issues.
Your role will involve leveraging your understanding of worker's compensation laws to assess and approve sustainable claims resolutions, engaging with legal representatives on claims disputes, and conducting technical evaluations for complex claims management strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will encompass:
- Utilizing your specialized knowledge in Workers Compensation to address complex claims and serving as a technical reference for colleagues, including Case Managers and Senior Case Managers.
- Providing guidance and support to employer clients requiring specialized technical assistance.
- Coordinating with Legal Panel Firms to ensure timely communication on all pre-litigated and litigated matters.
- Updating employers, employer consultants, and other stakeholders regarding litigated claims.
- Conducting quality reviews and endorsements of adverse decisions.
- Participating in case conferences with Case Managers and attending claims review meetings as necessary.
- Performing pre-conciliation assessments, aiding in strategic considerations, and attending conciliation conferences when required.
- Mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- Experience in the Worker's Compensation sector and familiarity with Work Cover legislation.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply the Accident Compensation Act.
- Exceptional customer service capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in client service roles, along with coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.
- A Bachelor of Law Degree and/or relevant industry qualifications are preferred.
