Job Description

A challenging career opportunity exists for a Defence Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Australia.

About the Role

This position will play a key role in the development of advanced defence systems, utilising your technical expertise and experience in systems engineering. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing product solutions for integration into the Combat system.

You will lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications. Additionally, you will generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications.

Your responsibilities will also include providing engineering support to transition products into service, conducting technical risk analysis, and leading junior engineers to facilitate documenting and executing verification and validation activities.

You will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members to build team skills in systems engineering methodology, as well as the required tools and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat system.
  • Lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
  • Generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications.
  • Provide engineering support to transition products into service.
  • Technical risk analysis, and leading junior engineers to facilitate documenting and executing verification and validation activities.
  • Mentoring junior team members to build team skills in systems engineering methodology, as well as the required tools and procedures.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, eligibility to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing, and a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.

You will ideally have minimum 4 years' experience in systems engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, design, integration, and verification.

You must be able to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels, possess knowledge of project management milestones, and be able to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments.

You must also be available to undertake travel where necessary to meet the requirements of the role and eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.

Salary & Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
