As a Systems Engineer you will join an exciting project working on new and innovative engineering activities focused on Submarine Combat System development. As a proactive and collaborative engineer, you will engage directly with key stakeholders as you work to introduce new technology to Australia's fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat system.
  • Lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications. 
  • Generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications.
  • Provide engineering support to transition products into service.
  • Technical risk analysis, and leading junior engineers to facilitate documenting and executing verification and validation activities.
  • Running major reviews throughout the lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews and test readiness reviews.
  • Mentoring junior team members to build team skills in systems engineering methodology, as well as the required tools and procedures.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in relevant Engineering disciplines with eligibility to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing and a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.
  • Ideally minimum 4 years’ experience in Systems Engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, design, integration, and verification.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels.
  • Knowledge of project management milestones coupled with the ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments.
  • Available to undertake travel where necessary to meet requirements of the role.
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.
