Head of Retail - Lifestyle, Home and Bedding Sector

This is a pivotal leadership role in shaping the national store network for a high-growth brand on its journey into physical retail. As Head of Retail, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive retail strategy, including store design, project management, team recruitment, and grand openings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior retail leadership, with experience launching or scaling store networks in multi-site or national retail environments. A proven track record in visual merchandising, operational excellence, and commercial performance will be essential.

Key responsibilities include leading the rollout and growth of a national store network, translating the brand's online identity into an immersive retail experience, driving creative and fresh visual merchandising across all locations, championing operational excellence, managing and optimizing retail P&L, individual store budgets, and performance metrics, building and inspiring a values-led, high-performing retail leadership team and culture, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align store strategy with digital, marketing, merchandising, and supply chain, ensuring compliance, safety, and ethical standards across all physical operations, embedding customer insights and feedback into ongoing retail improvement and innovation, and maintaining a deep understanding of product presentation.

Qualifications and skills required include 8+ years of experience in senior retail leadership, ideally with experience launching or scaling store networks in multi-site or national retail environments, experience in the mattress, bedding, or home/lifestyle category, strongly preferred, strong visual merchandising capability with an eye for creating fresh, engaging, and branded in-store experiences, experience working in fast-paced, digitally led or DTC businesses, highly advantageous, strong understanding of omnichannel operations, store fulfillment models, inventory systems, click and collect, and shipments from stores, experienced with store operations where each location manages its own inventory and ordering, excellent communicator with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, comfortable project managing store builds from the ground up, floorplans, timelines, supplier management, and execution, strong knowledge of store systems, retail merchandising, team management, and sales performance, confident balancing commercial outcomes with creative execution, and passionate about team culture, store experience, and delivering exceptional customer service.
