As Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for the interior design and documentation on projects in conjunction with the Project Architect. This role is a 12-month parental leave cover.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the Design/Architecture/Property Development industry and relevant tertiary qualifications in the Interior Design field. They will possess extensive experience working as an Interior Designer with proven computing skills and experience using design software, including CAD/BIM standards and regulations.

Job Description
  • Lead the development of new innovative ideas for inclusion in future projects and direct work undertaken by the team.
  • Responsible for the interior design and documentation on projects in conjunction with the Project Architect/Coordinator.
  • Compile the interior design brief in conjunction with the Project Delivery team and oversee its integration into the overall project brief.
  • Assist with and contribute to the design of internal layouts.
  • Evaluate finishes schemes and ensure they comply with Mirvac Design standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Architect to review and prepare interior design-related specifications required for tender.
  • Implement and monitor quality management systems (QMS).
  • Ensure that the design complies with all Mirvac fitness-for-purpose standards.
  • Coordinate document approvals and sign-offs, as well as communication with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Verify that S&M materials align with documented finishes and fittings.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure design intent is met.
  • Prepare and monitor interior design team programs and drawing schedules to meet building construction programs and tender package requirements.
  • Monitor and manage agreed interior design project resource budgets in conjunction with the Senior Interior Designer.
  • Collaborate with the Cost Planner to ensure agreed interior design construction budgets are met.
  • Participate in customer events and work with the Marketing & Sales Team to understand buyer requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of approved innovation and benchmarking from research and customer feedback.

This position requires strong relationship-building skills within the Mirvac Project Team and other Mirvac Divisions, commensurate with the level of the designer.
