Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Event Chef to join our team. This is a dynamic role that requires a high level of culinary expertise, strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

  • The Senior Event Chef will oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes at functions and events, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency.
  • This includes managing a team of junior chefs, working closely with the Executive Chef to deliver high-quality menus and collaborating with event managers and function supervisors to meet client needs.
  • The successful candidate will have experience in a 5-star hotel, large-scale restaurant or catering company, and a proven track record of producing high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate and consistent preparation and presentation of all dishes at functions and events.
  • Manage a team of junior chefs, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menus and recipes.
  • Collaborate with event managers and function supervisors to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect food and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a 5-star hotel, large-scale restaurant or catering company.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality dishes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
