About the Role

V/Line is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator (OT Control Systems) to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the thorough maintenance and management of Train Control and related Operational Control Systems (OCS), ensuring their maximum availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and resolve technical issues in Train Control, signalling, and communication systems.
  • Maintain and document the Train Control systems infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and networks.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance strategies and system security protocols to ensure system integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for optimal hardware and software procurement.
  • Support system upgrades and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold maintenance standards and achieve system performance and reliability goals.
About You

Requirements
  • A solid foundation of at least 3 years of experience in providing technical support to internal business clients, with a preference for backgrounds in IT or OT systems infrastructure.
  • Proficient in the administration and management of IT systems infrastructure with hands-on experience in SCADA Control Systems, rail signalling systems, telecommunication systems, and networking infrastructure maintenance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing Virtualisation Platforms such as VMWare or Hyper-V, comprehensive understanding of networking concepts including LAN, WAN, and network devices across layers 2 and 3.
  • Familiarity with Remote Access Technologies like RDP, Terminal Services, VNC, TeamViewer, and Netop, as well as proficiency in SQL Database Management.
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology – Systems Administration or Computer Systems.
  • Electrical, Technical Diploma level.
  • Rail and Tram Signalling Systems Certificate IV / V
  • CCNA qualified.
