About this role
Public Sector People is seeking a skilled IT Security Specialist to join their team on a 3-month temporary contract.
The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for local councils. They will contribute to the development of the Cybersecurity strategy and work closely with the Head of Cyber to identify areas for improvement and implement new security measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure architectures that protect Council's infrastructure, assets, and data.
- Evaluate and select security vendors and manage relationships with third-party providers.
- Provide advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of specialized skills and experience in information security.
- Local council experience is highly regarded.
- Ability to develop architecture security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISSAP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong experience engaging with business users and understanding their security requirements.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary of $100-$110 per hour plus superannuation.
- A hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office.
