Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accountant to join our team at REO Group. As a Technical Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our General Manager of Finance and becoming a Subject Matter Expert for Technical Accounting.

This is a unique opportunity for a qualified accountant, likely working at a Manager level within a Big 4 firm, to take on the responsibility of Technical Accounting for a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements to ensure high-quality output.
  • Ensure full compliance with AASB/IFRS accounting standards.
  • Identify and update the Finance team on new accounting standards or changes to existing standards.
  • Produce Impact Analysis and memos.
  • Prepare accounting position papers that comply with AASB/IFRS and provide impact analysis.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and processes.
  • Educate the team on technical accounting matters and their impact on financial statements.

Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualification.
  • Experience working within a Big 4 firm.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary package of $140,000 - $145,000 + Super.
  • Regular exposure to Senior Management and C-Level Stakeholders.
