Gen AI Software Engineer

Commonwealth Bank is looking for an experienced Gen AI Engineer to join our AI acceleration function. We are a world leader in AI ambition, and we need your expertise to drive innovation and deliver better outcomes for customers, employees, and the wider community.

The successful candidate will lead the design and development of scalable AI-driven systems and services. They will also accelerate development workflows by writing, testing, and optimising system code, and enabling intelligent debugging through AI-powered suggestions.

  • Requirements:
    • Experience with AI/ML and Generative AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers)
    • Hands-on experience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using frameworks such as LlamaIndex, LangChain, or similar frameworks
    • Experience designing and implementing Agentic AI systems using frameworks such as AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, Pydantic, or similar tools to orchestrate multi-agent workflows, and enable autonomous task execution
    • Advanced programming skills in languages such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or C#
    • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, with experience deploying, scaling, and managing AI/ML workloads in secure, production-grade environments
    • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), secure coding practices, automated testing strategies, and CI/CD pipeline integration
