Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Garment Developer to join our studio team. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and patternmaking across all aspects of our design process.

You will support our designers, patternmakers, and production team in creating accurate tech packs including technical details, measurements, and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop first patterns from design briefs using Gerber Accumark software.
  • Manage tech packs through the production process, ensuring accuracy from sample stage to final sign-off.
  • Measure all Salesman Samples and ensure tech packs are up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with designers, product developers, pattern makers, and the production team to facilitate smooth communication throughout the product development process.
  • Attend product development and production fittings, communicating changes to internal and external stakeholders and updating tech packs accordingly.
  • Work with machinists to create high-quality samples.
  • Create markers for sampling and provide all patternmaking information for estimates, including updating design brief file specification sheets.
  • Provide ongoing support to the production team on pattern, fit, construction, or quality queries.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Garment Developer, preferably in the high-end / luxury fashion industry.
  • Experience with technical fabrications and manufacturing processes is advantageous.
  • Experienced in garment construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design / Textiles (focus on patternmaking) or similar.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with a focus on garment construction and specifications.
  • Familiarity with flat patternmaking and patternmaking software (Gerber knowledge preferred but not essential).
  • Strong sewing skills across a wide range of fabrics and types of construction.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Mac and PC, and fashion production software.
