About the Role

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Patternmaker to lead the creation, maintenance, and integrity of uniform patterns for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

  • Own the patternmaking process, including pattern creation, grading, adjustments, and marker checks using Gerber v12+
  • Audit and maintain baseline patterns, ensuring accuracy and alignment with garment specifications and size charts
  • Participate in garment fittings to ensure accurate fit, pattern adjustments, and product compliance
  • Create and manage patterns, tech packs, and associated documentation, ensuring version control and critical path adherence
  • Liaise with sample makers and suppliers to ensure patterns are accurate and manufacturing-ready
  • Review and comment on samples for quality, construction, and adherence to pattern specs
  • Liaise with Gerber for upgrades and technical support; oversee corrections to factory-generated patterns
  • Support product development with accurate fabric yields and fit advice when requested
  • Contribute to product compliance processes, including documentation and testing requirements
  • Maintain WIP tracking, ensuring timelines and development milestones are met

  • Confident communicator with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with internal teams and external manufacturers
