About the Role

Bunnings is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Contracts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing contract management, administration, and commercial advice to ensure the successful delivery of major projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing contract management and administration duties, including liaising with clients, contractors, and project team members.
  • Providing strong commercial counsel and leadership within the project team.
  • Supporting project leaders to manage upstream and downstream contracts, including interface and back-to-back contracting risk.
  • Advising and assisting the project team to understand the rights and obligations of Bunnings in relation to contracts.
  • Ensuring contractual risk is managed and mitigated, including support for managing variations, extension of time, delay and disruption claims, liquidated damages, and provisional sums.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A thorough understanding of legal and contractual frameworks for construction, particularly across QLD, NSW, and Victoria.
  • Proven experience in developing and administering legal contracts in a construction or related field, including scopes of work.
  • Advanced commercial contracts knowledge and experience.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding agreements for development plans, building specifications, and building costs.
  • Detailed understanding of project planning, programming, scheduling, administration, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Operational experience of project delivery software.
  • Experience of document control systems.
  • Experience of time-sensitive and well-staged projects.
  • Experience of hosting, holding, and documenting meetings.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Demonstrated examples of innovation and performance.
