Part-time Security Officer

Join us as a Security Officer and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our building during overnight hours.

The successful candidate will work part-time from 9.00pm to 5.30am Friday and Saturdays, monitoring and controlling the entry and exit of residents, guests, and visitors. They will also observe and respond to any suspicious activity through CCTV monitoring, address noise complaints and disturbances in a calm, professional manner, and conduct hourly patrols of Level one, Level 23 and External exit points to maintain security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and security of the building during overnight hours
  • Monitor and control the entry and exit of residents, guests, and visitors
  • Observe and respond to any suspicious activity through CCTV monitoring
  • Address noise complaints and disturbances in a calm, professional manner
  • Conduct hourly patrols of Level one, Level 23 and External exit points to maintain security standards
  • Enforce compliance with building by-laws and house rules
  • Provide concierge-style service, including general assistance to residents and guests
  • Maintain detailed duty logs, incident reports, and handovers
  • Liaise with emergency services as needed and follow approved protocols
  • Operate and manage building systems, including key control, fire panels, and Opera PMS
  • Co-ordinate the mail rooms and parcel return policy
  • Other duties as directed by the Night Manager and Building Manager

Requirements:

  • Ability to work the required overnight hours and weekend work
  • Must hold a current Victorian Private Security Licence
  • Fluent in English – both verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-groomed and professional appearance
