We are seeking an experienced and passionate Coordinator, Indigenous Collections & Archives to join our team at the University of Adelaide. This is a unique opportunity to work with our Indigenous collections and archives, promoting their use and discovery by the community, researchers, and students.

The Coordinator, Indigenous Collections & Archives will oversee the management and promotion of our Indigenous collections and archives, working closely with stakeholders to ensure their effective use. This role involves consulting with various stakeholders, including Wirtlu Yarlu, faculty, and researchers, to promote the culturally appropriate discovery and use of our Indigenous collections and archives.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Indigenous people.
  • Experience working with rare and special or archival collections.
  • Working knowledge of relevant frameworks, including open access principles, and indigenous cultural intellectual property (ICIP) and management of content related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Commitment to advancing Indigenous Knowledges and practices across the University and wider community.
  • Proven ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Proven ability to actively contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team environment.
  • Demonstrated high level cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build productive working relationships across an organisation.
