Empowering Mental Wellness Advocate

This role plays a vital part in representing the rights and interests of individuals experiencing mental illness. Key responsibilities include:
- Representing clients in addressing instances of discrimination, abuse, and neglect.
- Developing personalized support plans to improve welfare outcomes.
- Providing education on clients' rights and advocating for their best interests.
- Fostering capacity building programs to empower clients to advocate on their own behalf.
- Maintaining accurate records and progress notes to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Referring clients to relevant services as required to provide comprehensive support.
- Participating in team and professional development activities to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
- Experience working with people experiencing mental illness, with a strong understanding of their unique needs.
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to participate in training and learning opportunities.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Human Services) and current Positive Notice Police Check, Working With Children Card, and QLD Positive Notice Disability Yellow Card are required qualifications.
