Lead Governance & Risk Functions

We are seeking a seasoned governance and risk professional to lead our organisation's governance, corporate risk, and compliance functions. This exciting opportunity will see you oversee a small team and ensure we fulfill our legislative, regulatory, and strategic obligations.

  • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks, including enterprise risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Chair the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee (ARIC) and represent our interests while ensuring high standards of governance and compliance.
  • Manage statutory compliance, corporate registers, and integrated planning/reporting obligations.
  • Oversee our insurance portfolio and high-level claims.
  • Act as the Public Officer and manage Freedom of Information (GIPA) and Privacy matters.
  • Provide high-quality governance advice to senior executives, managers, and councillors.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need tertiary qualifications in governance, law, policy, risk management, or business, combined with demonstrated experience in governance, legal, or administrative roles involving risk management practices. A sound understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply statutory requirements accurately and confidently is essential.
