About the Role

The Senior Mental Health Social Worker will provide high-quality assessment, intensive case management services, and assertive outreach support to individuals experiencing mental illness, utilizing a recovery-oriented model of care.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Case Manager, undertaking case management and supporting recovery for individuals with a lived experience of mental ill health within the BHMSTS.
  • Working in partnership with individuals, families, and carers to provide high-quality assessment, intensive case management services, and assertive outreach support using the Collaborative Recovery Model, aiming to promote and facilitate recovery.
  • Collaborating with the Consultant Psychiatrist, AMHS Rehabilitation Team Leader, and Service Manager, and other Senior Clinicians in MSTS, providing leadership, ensuring high-quality clinical standards, quality improvement, and ongoing development of the Rehabilitation Stream.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience in supporting adults with a lived experience of mental ill health.
  • A qualification in Social Work approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for membership as a social worker, maintaining compliance with the AASW Continuing Professional Development Policy to meet the Eastern Health Allied Health credentialing standard.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team and autonomously.
  • Commitment to supervised practice, ongoing professional development, and further developing skills in clinical mental health.
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • You must hold a valid driver's license.

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on providing evidence of current vaccination against COVID-19 with booster and Influenza prior to commencing employment.
