Health and Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health Advisor role involves creating, implementing, and enhancing health and safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
- Advise management on health and safety matters.
- Provide expertise in compliance, ergonomics, electrical and machine safety, confined spaces, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Investigate incidents/injuries and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure environmental compliance (e.g. air, stormwater, hazardous materials, spill prevention).
- Conduct audits, inspections, and training to maintain compliance.
- Manage injury reporting and return-to-work programs.
- Oversee safety systems (fire, egress, security, parking) and emergency response.
- Approve new chemicals, equipment, and processes.
- Track safety metrics and support capital project reviews.
- Share best practices, tools, and programs across teams.
- Integrate EHS policies into new projects and operations.
- Monitor regulations, develop compliance strategies, and training programs.
You should have a degree in an EHS-related field and WHS qualifications (Cert IV or above desirable). Excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
