Senior Recruitment Consultant - Engineering / Operations / HSEQ Specialist at PERSOL

Our client is a major Australian container terminal operator is looking for a hands on, Heath and Safety Specialist to manage and deliver site safety strategy driving continual improvement in HSE performance and culture. Acting as a key influencer, you'll partner with leaders, coach teams, and ensure compliance with national standards and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve HSE management systems in line with AS4801, ISO14001, and corporate standards.
  • Provide visible safety leadership, coaching, and mentoring to operational teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations (ICAM), and hazard management.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training and competency verification.
  • Analyse safety performance data and drive targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, contractors, and stakeholders.

About You

  • Diploma in OHS (minimum); tertiary safety/science/engineering qualification desirable.
  • Proven HSE leadership in heavy industry (e.g., Maritime, Transport, Manufacturing, Mining, Defence).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience in safety training, auditing, and injury management.
  • Sound knowledge of OHS legislation; MSIC eligibility required.
