About the Role

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the implementation and delivery of programs within a region, ensuring high-quality services are provided to Life Without Barriers clients. This includes managing programs, budgets, human resources, customer relationships, and image. The incumbent provides leadership to teams, focusing on client outcomes, quality, standards, growth, and performance of each service.

Based in Ipswich, this rare opportunity allows an Operations Manager to lead and support service delivery and growth of multiple programs with a strong focus on Out of Home Care and Residential Care. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, strategic, and able to quickly grasp and respond to local needs.

This role requires experience in the senior management of Out of Home Care and Residential Care. The successful candidate will use their business acumen and interpersonal skills to engage and work with multiple stakeholders, promoting Life Without Barriers as a quality service provider.

The Operations Manager will be instrumental in achieving Life Without Barriers' Strategy 2025 and Elevate RAP objectives. They will be committed to the transition of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children in OOHC to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage programs, budgets, and human resources to ensure high-quality services are delivered.
  • Provide leadership to teams, focusing on client outcomes, quality, standards, growth, and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Child Protection policies and framework.
Requirements
  • Degree qualification in Human Services or related discipline.
  • Significant management experience in a similar program (Intensive Foster Care and/or Residential).
  • Demonstrated understanding of Child Protection policies and framework.
  • Familiarity with TCI and the CARE principles will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the care and protection of children and young people.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and development.
  • Advanced interpersonal/communication skills, including verbal, written, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and organisational skills.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use initiative, think laterally, and strategically, and meet deadlines and produce quality work under pressure.
  • Proven track record in advocating for and supporting the rights of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage issues, risks, and contentious matters.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
