Residential Care Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Care Leader to oversee the daily care of young people in our residential care homes.

Job Description

As a Residential Care Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of young people. You will lead by example, providing guidance and support to residential care workers to deliver high-quality care.

You will work closely with the team to maintain a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment. This includes stepping in to lead during times when the House Supervisor is not present and implementing therapeutic practices to promote positive behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development
  2. Lead by example, providing guidance and support to residential care workers
  3. Maintain a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values
  • Awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families
  • Relevant Diploma with substantial experience, including four (4) additional mandatory competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and support a team of residential care workers
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties
