Job Title: Assistant House Supervisor

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant House Supervisor. This is a full-time opportunity based in Hamilton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. This includes stepping in to lead during times when the House Supervisor is not present and maintaining a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment. They will also possess strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise and support a team of residential care workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Step in to lead during times when the House Supervisor is not present and maintain a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment.
  • Guide residential care workers, promote therapeutic care practices, and ensure the home runs smoothly.
Requirements:
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
  • Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and support a team of residential care workers.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.
  • Valid and Current Driver's Licence.
  • Valid and Current Workers With Children's Check.
  • Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
