Residential Care Assistant House Supervisor – MacKillop Family Services

We are looking for an Assistant House Supervisor to join the team in providing quality care for young people in our residential care homes. This is a full-time opportunity based in Hamilton.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily care of young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Step in to lead during times when the House Supervisor is not present and maintain a safe, healthy, and harmonious home environment.
  • Guide residential care workers, promote therapeutic care practices, and ensure the home runs smoothly.
Qualifications
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
  • Relevant Diploma with substantial experience including four (4) additional mandatory competencies (top up units).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and support a team of residential care workers.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field, particularly within a therapeutic environment.
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviours.
  • Valid and Current Driver's Licence
  • Valid and Current Workers With Children's Check
  • Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check

  • Hourly Rate based on SCHADS Award Level 4 ($ $47.97) dependent on qualification and experience.
