About the Role

The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Performance Specialist to join our team as a Physical Training Instructor (PTI). As a PTI, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and coaching high-performance strength and conditioning programs to enable Defence members to build physical and mental resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver strength, conditioning, coaching, and functional physical training programs
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs
  • Conduct reconditioning and return-to-work training as part of a rehabilitation team
  • Develop and deliver group and individual high-performance strength and conditioning programs
  • Provide physical wellness education and recreational activities
  • Deliver mental wellness education and adventurous training activities
  • Conduct and report on military physical fitness assessments
  • Instruction of ADF Fitness Leaders (ADFFL) courses
  • Supervise, develop, and maintain technical competence of ADFFLs
  • Perform administrative and management duties to support PTI services and resources
  • Manage and supervise physical and recreational facilities, equipment, and services
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Diploma (AQF level 5) in a relevant field, such as sports science, exercise science, or exercise physiology, from an Australian registered training organisation. You will also need to have two years of qualified industry experience within the last five years and a passion for human performance.

You will be required to maintain a high level of physical fitness and have the ability to work in various environments, including Australia and overseas.
