Job Overview:

Melbourne VIC - Delivering a profitable insurance service to clients. Key tasks include underwriting business within agreed plans, supporting business planning, monitoring financial exposure, and maintaining awareness of claims advised.

  • Calculating risk premium considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and administration costs.
  • Advising, assisting, servicing, and following up with clients on insurance matters.
  • Effective relationship management for cross-selling opportunities and account retention.
  • Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards.
  • Coordinating with internal teams to determine reinsurance for risk placements.
  • Maintaining awareness of claims advised while supporting settlement of claims.

Responsibilities will be carried out in a team environment, working collaboratively with underwriters, underwriting assistants, and management team.

**Key Skills:**

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with equivalent experience in relevant class of business.
  • Marketing skills including planning sales and business development.
  • Negotiation/Sales skills including planning and conducting negotiations.
  • Analytical skills including solving complex problems to make key business decisions.
  • Interpersonal savvy including building relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Strategy and Planning skills including making underwriting decisions to fulfill business strategic plan.
