Component Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Component Manager to lead our team in Supply Chain Planning at Qantas. The successful candidate will be responsible for component campaign planning, modifications, repair, and warranty planning, as well as the operation of all aircraft parts under contract in support of our mainline fleet.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop forecasts, supply plans, and inventory optimization strategies to meet customer demands.
  • Liaise with QE Integrated Planning to ensure forecast plans are accurate and execute plans effectively with purchasing, freight, warehousing, and event management.
  • Identify and implement demand supply planning process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the development and execution of supply chain network planning processes to provide greater insight and drive decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong Supply Chain experience in planning and inventory management.
  • Degree qualifications in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related degrees.
  • Relevant experience with long-term planning, capacity planning, and supply network optimization.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate a large team.
  • Proven experience in identifying and deploying process improvements.
  • Highly motivated and results-driven.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Superior analytical and data skills.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to think critically in complex situations and deal with ambiguity.
