We are currently seeking a skilled and hands-on Team Leader for our Machine Shop and Specialized Hydraulics division.

This essential position at our Dandenong branch involves leading, mentoring, and developing a dedicated team of Machinists, Diesel Technicians, Technical Assistants, and Apprentices within the workshop environment.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Team Leader, you will serve as the primary contact for our diligent workshop and support personnel. Your main goal will be to ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met while guaranteeing a positive customer experience during every interaction.

This role is ideal for an emerging leader with aspirations for career advancement into Service, Branch, and Operations Management roles within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the quality of work and performance of Machinists, Diesel Technicians, Technical Assistants, and Apprentices
  • Aiming to consistently meet service labor targets related to repair and maintenance tasks
  • Coordinating work schedules and managing service work orders
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing apprentices
  • Promoting a safe working environment with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Effectively managing and monitoring all ongoing work to meet company standards

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a genuine passion for motivating and inspiring a team of professionals.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Qualified Machinist with substantial experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to engage with customers, colleagues, and all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a similar capacity is advantageous
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
