Food and Beverage Team Leader Job Description

Rydges South Bank is a highly-regarded hotel boasting 304 rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, and conferencing facilities. The hotel is located in the heart of South Bank, neighbouring the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

We are seeking a Food and Beverage Team Leader to support service across our outlets: Café, Bar & Dining (CBD), Soleil Pool Bar, and Room Service. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career by guiding a team and ensuring smooth daily operations.

The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, assisting in service while providing support and direction to team members. They will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the coordination of daily service across the venue
  • Supporting and guiding team members during shifts
  • Leading by example to maintain high service standards
  • Handling guest inquiries and ensuring a positive experience
  • Ensuring work areas are clean, organised, and service-ready
  • Upholding Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Confident communication and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and service presentation
  • Professional grooming and presentation
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
