About KB Seafood Co:

We are one of Australia's largest seafood companies operating across the supply chain, from catching to wholesaling. Our annual seafood supply exceeds 30,000 tonnes, servicing leading foodservice operators and major supermarkets.

About the Role:

This role ensures imported products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards, while optimizing supply continuity and minimizing detention charges. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and updating container status, ETA, transhipments, and Biosecurity/IFIS holds.
  • Collaborating with the team to maintain accurate container status in SAP after shipment dispatch.
  • Updating relevant business departments on shipment delays and early arrivals.
  • Pre-clearing import documentation with customs brokers before vessel ETA.
  • Liaising with transport companies for timely slot allocation at the wharf and customer premises.
  • Investigating EDI late provisions from 3PL cold stores and ensuring timely stock receipt in inventory.
  • Receiving stock in SAP for direct deliveries to customers.
  • Effective communication with QA, Logistics, Sales, Purchase, and Cold Stores teams on any issues.
  • Verifying transportation, lab, and clearance invoices for accurate payment.
  • Issuing claims to international and logistics suppliers and ensuring timely settlements.
  • Organizing Biosecurity/IFIS inspections and arranging re-export of non-compliant stock.
  • Clearing and delivering import airfreight samples for company evaluation.
  • Managing laboratory testing and reviewing results.
  • Sorting and archiving original documents, surrendering OBL to shipping lines, and updating SAP status.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma in International Business
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the food/FMCG industry, preferably with DAFF regulations knowledge and Australia's Imports Regulations and Policies understanding
  • Logistics industry experience (shipping line/freight forwarder)
  • International supplier experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High computer literacy, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Eligibility for a Full-Time permanent position
