About the Role

This 12-month program is designed to transition you from academic study into the workplace, providing professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways.

  • You will contribute to projects that shape and connect our city, providing real-world opportunities to grow, develop, and progress.

  • Design your graduate experience and career direction.
  • Network with city officials, attend exclusive talks, and participate in graduate team events.
  • Develop work-based skills and access personal, professional, and career development training.
Your Key Responsibilities

As a graduate, you will conduct initial environmental assessments, obtain statutory approvals, and oversee environmental aspects of construction and land rehabilitation for key city assets.

Collaborate with project managers to provide technical guidance on identifying critical environmental issues, interpreting legislation, and advising on avoidance and mitigation strategies.

What We Offer

The Utilities and Catchments team manages City projects involving utilities, catchments, and waterways. You will work collaboratively with project managers to deliver projects that ensure optimal environmental outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must hold a recognized bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2026.

Applicants must also have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.
