Job Role Overview

The Swim Teacher role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of swimmers by instilling effective swimming and water safety techniques. As a skilled educator, you will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans that cater to students of diverse ages and abilities.

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive lesson plans to meet the needs of students\
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment\
  • Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues\
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and attendance\
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills\
  • Energetic and dynamic teaching style\
  • Excellent verbal communication skills\
  • Understanding of OHS and public safety applications within your facility\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team\
  • Current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate\
  • Blue card\
  • Current AustSwim Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety\
  • AUSTSWIM extension certificate (Desirable)\

Responsibilities

Teach swimming and water safety techniques to students of all ages

Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance

Participate in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills
