Middlemount Coal Pty Ltd is an incorporated joint venture between Yancoal Australia and Peabody PCI Australia. The mine produces approximately 4.0 million tonnes of medium-volatile pulverized coal injection (PCI) coal and semi-hard coking coal for the export market.
About the Role
Reporting to the Health Safety Superintendent you will be a results-oriented person with excellent communication skills who will enthusiastically accept the many challenges of this diverse and rewarding role.
You will have strong demonstrated skills in incident investigations, risk management and assessment processes, implementing and monitoring of initiatives and programs and adherence to statutory obligations. The diversity of this roll with also see you liaising with medical professionals and service providers to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System and legislative requirements, monitoring the rehabilitation process for injured workers.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Providing direction and strategic planning to the site's Health, Safety team.
· Coordinating support services in line with site goals and legislative obligations.
· Proactively ensuring compliance with the Site Safety & Health Management System and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
· Delivering business objectives in a cost-effective and safe manner.
· Overseeing the planning and allocation of task activities to achieve forecasted results, including health, safety, environment, and community impact considerations.
· Assisting in the preparation of operational budgets and ensuring effective resource utilisation and cost control.
· Developing and implementing standards, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Proactive leading and supporting the team to deliver strong performance through effective coordination.
· Building and maintaining positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
· years of experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably within the resources/mining industry.
· Experience with Injury Management / Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs.
· Strong knowledge of Health & Safety Requirements on a mine site.
· In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
· Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or Occupational Hygiene.
· Demonstrated experience in Leading ICAM Investigations.
· Strong Proactive leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
