This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other professionals to provide high-quality care and support to prisoners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to prisoners, addressing mental health issues, substance abuse, and other related concerns.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans, working closely with prisoners, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate harm, promoting prisoner safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, psychologists, and social workers to provide holistic care and support.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- A recognised degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Experience in a counselling or therapeutic setting, particularly working with vulnerable populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with prisoners and staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Certification in trauma-informed practice, cognitive-behavioural therapy, or other relevant modalities.
