Job Summary
We are seeking a Payment Operations Associate, Insurance to join our team in providing finance and operational support for our international payments and health insurance businesses. This role will be responsible for managing accounting software, reconciling transactions, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Data Management
- Post financial data to the company's accounting system
- Enter, update, and/or retrieve accounting data from systems
- Transaction Reconciliation
- Reconcile transactions, financial data, and other information to the company's accounting system
- Accounting Software Management
- Manage accounting software (NetSuite)
- Financial Reporting
- Assist with financial statement preparation and provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- Tax Compliance
- Tax classification and preparation of BAS reporting
- Internal Control Systems
- Maintain internal control systems
- Policy Verification
- Verify policies billed against applications received and reconcile differences through follow-up with the provider and/or other employees
- Insurance Renewals
- Insurance renewals and extensions
- Payment Processing
- Handles reconciliations, refunds, commissions as well as daily, weekly & monthly payments
- Banking and Invoicing
- Banking, invoicing and credit card reconciliation
- Compliance Verification
- Compliance verification and reporting
- Customer Support
- Answering emails and help-desk tickets regarding customers' needs
- Ad-hoc Research
- Ad-hoc research activities
Qualifications
- Experience
- 1+ years relevant experience in an insurance, accounting, operations or customer support focused position. Ideally in the finance industry.
- Skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational capability
- Customer focus and proven interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and escalation skills
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Education
- Bachelor degree qualified in a finance or accounting related field
