Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, delivering technical excellence and building strong client relationships.

You will take the lead on complex projects, conduct detailed inspections and assessments, and drive them from concept through to completion. Your expertise will directly influence the future of building compliance and performance across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Building Regulations and relevant Australian Standards across various projects.
  • Conduct site inspections, access audits, fire safety assessments and compliance reviews for new and existing developments.
  • Develop performance solutions, technical reports and regulatory submissions that meet client and statutory requirements.
  • Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time and to the highest quality.
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication, expert advice and proactive service.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and consultants, fostering technical growth and professional development.
  • Support business development through proposal writing, fee estimates and identifying new opportunities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Building Surveyor.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of the BCA, Building Regulations and Australian Standards.
  • Proven ability to assess complex building proposals and deliver clear actionable advice.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset.
